Liturgical Dance and Fitness, Adding More Steps to Your Day for Healthy Living

Liturgical dancers come in all beautiful sizes. At some point liturgical dance should motivate dancers to strive for physical fitness once the realization of how physically demanding.

In my earlier post, Liturgical Dance and Fitness, I urged liturgical dancers to take care of their health by making small changes and following the dietary law. Making small changes in your physical habits can greatly augment your health and stamina during dance ministry times. Many of you may or may not have heard about the 10,000 steps per day challenge. Liturgical Dance and Fitness

Being healthy and fit is an important part of dance ministry. Dance ministry requires physical stability as you endure rehearsals, traveling, preparations, and other life demands. Let's face it, many liturgical dancers desire to be in dance ministry, but are not quite prepared for the physical demands of dance ministry. While I am not trying to bash anyone I simply want to encourage all dancers to minister in excellence in spirit and body.

Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost. What we eat and how we treat it will determine how our bodies perform under stress with the addition of physical activity. Since liturgical dance is a physical activity it is important to eat healthy and stay in shape so that you can dance your best. The older I get and the more I minister in dance I realize the importance of being a physically fit liturgical dancer.
